Hey, I’ve seen many junior/grad designers struggling with their own portfolio and doubting if it’s reflecting their skills, so I want to create this topic to help you out.

If you are looking for some feedback on your portfolio before sending out to companies you wanna work for or clients, leave a link here and myself and others can give you constructive feedback on how to improve it so you get better chances to land your next job/client.

(Give us as much context as possible to make it easier for us to evaluate.)

Hello, everyone. I’m looking for feedback on my design portfolio. I’ve worked with a few trustworthy clients and hope to get more consistent projects. Any constructive criticism or suggestions are much welcomed. I’m also interested to working on new projects and receiving client referrals. Thank you.

        Thank you @tiagorosado

I don’t know much about website backend development. I am still learning. The content on this website is incomplete because it was created as an experiment. I prefer keeping things as simple as possible. I am currently working on a new website. I signed up for Squarclub because of its sleek interface. Now I like it even more! 🙂

Fantastic portfolio @irshadmarshall very professional and consistent quality, I have no doubt you’ll have a successful career.

My only feedback / suggestion would be to focus a bit more on your core offering, I see you have a wide range of design services, but usually is more effective to put together a portfolio of one specific type of work, for example Logo & Brand Identity or let’s say Packaging and Labels.

You can also mention that you can provide all the other services as secondary if clients need, but if you position yourself as a expert in some specific area your perceived value is way higher and they also will assume that you are great at everything else.

So in short just choose the areas you like the most, or the type of work you want to get hired more to do, and focus you offering on that.

Thank you @admin for your thoughtful feedback and encouragement! I am an architect by profession, but graphic design is my actual passion. For the past year, my entire focus has been on graphic design. This hybrid work has sometimes made me feel like I’m not good at anything.

I need some suggestions on how to boost my confidence because I’m not very good at self-promotion. As an introvert and a perfectionist, I believe my perfectionism has slowed my progress and led to procrastination. It has always been difficult for me to speak up about my abilities. I initially joined Squarclub because of its interface. Now I’m here to improve my communication skills and showcase my work to the world.

Aside from design, I also create art, and I’m considering building a separate portfolio for my artwork. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to acquire confidence and attract more clients. Thank you for your continued support and guidance! 🫶

          Thanks for sharing @irshadmarshall
Your graphic design skills are pretty solid, you are in a good path for success.

Boosting your confidence can be tricky, I’m also a introvert myself and I know how it feels, but it just requires practice, putting yourself out there and speaking about the things you know. It will always fill a bit uncomfortable at the beginning but it will start feel easier with time, that’s what have been my experience, I can only speak for myself.

I hear many people saying it’s better done than perfect, and I am trying to embrace that as well. Do not be afraid to show your work, perfect comes with practice, and the more you do the better will be.

I totally agree that you should have a separate account for you art projects to not mix it, so it’s easier for your clients to focus on one thing.

Regarding getting client I am preparing a Live Workshop this month about that subject. Stay tuned.
